We were happy to join the Massachusetts Society of Anesthesiologists in DC last week for @ASALifeline’s annual Legislative Conference. As part of the conference, members headed to the Capitol for meetings with MA’s federal delegation to advocate in support of issues such as equitable access to care and patient safety. #ASAWLC

Proud to be able to partner w/ orgs like @FORGEImpact who are committed to unlocking the full economic power of our innovation and manufacturing ecosystems in MA. They believe that if you can invent it locally, there is power and advantage to making it locally.
🚀Great Things Brewing in the Western MA Economy🚀 An incredible evening at 🍺 White Lion Brewing Company in #SpringfieldMA this week, discussing the current wins and future opportunities for the #WesternMassachusetts economy. 🔦The event, sponsored by MassDevelopment aimed to illuminate the path to prosperity for businesses across the region was moderated by FORGE's own Scott Longley, with opening remarks by FORGE president and executive director Laura Teicher. 🎤It was an honor to be joined by MA State Senator Adam Gomez Sr. and MA State Representative Orlando Ramos. During their remarks, both the senator and the representative highlighted the rich history of #WesternMA and, of particular note, the city of Springfield as "a #CityofFirsts" with a bright future. We were also happy to be joined by #CityofHolyoke Mayor Joshua Garcia. We thank them all for taking the time to join us. 🗨️Next up a panel discussion with Karen Carswell, VP of Business Development-West Region - MassDevelopment, Paul St. Pierre Regional Director - Massachusetts Executive Office of Economic Development (EOED), and Xiomara Delobato Vice President and Chief of Staff - Western Massachusetts Economic Development Council. Topics ranged from 2023 successes in the region to opportunities for more success in 2024. Paul St Pierre pointed to companies like Sublime Systems, Clean Crop Technologies, Inc., and Performance Food Group as great examples of having found success in western MA. Karen Carswell pointed out that "when we can break down the silos, public and private resources can dance together as a team". Working together with the innovation ecosystem and public resources, businesses can thrive and become the next success stories. 📜Xiomara Delobato introduced a recent white paper, "Accelerating Growth in the Pioneer Valley: A Prospectus for Transformative Investment", a collaboration by the Western MA Economic Development Council, the Massachusetts Competitive Partnership, Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts, and the Davis Foundation. The paper highlights where the #PioneerValley is well-positioned to compete: #foodscience, #advancedmaterials, and #cleanenergy. You can find that paper here: https://lnkd.in/eyZnsjdu After the panel, there was plenty of time for lively networking and great food and beverages provided by the White Lion Beverage Company. We thank Raymond Berry, Jr. and his team for all their hard work in helping make the event a success! #FORGEImpact #CommunityDevelopment #PublicPrivatePartnership #Sustainability #InnovationEcosystem

Great New England Council event yesterday, especially hearing from Boston Globe Media & MSNBC commentator Kimberly Atkins Stohr. When asked about how to cover the 2024 Presidential race, Atkins said, "Reporters need to remember not to just cover the odds, but the stakes."

How lucky are we that Boston is home to so much rich history? The Museum of African American History welcomed Dr. Noelle Trent as CEO and President last June and we are proud to have a front row seat as the Museum continues its transformation under her leadership. We’re definitely going to add her favorite podcasts and audio dramas to our lists. https://lnkd.in/eHy_bdhS

We feel so lucky to be part of a state where so many incredible organizations are working to address the climate crisis and are providing real-world solutions to meet the country's most pressing environmental challenges. We're proud to support the Environmental League of Massachusetts (ELM) and its work advocating for policy that meets the scale and urgency of our environmental challenges. Congratulations to this year's Commonwealth Environmental Leadership Awardees - Attorney General Andrea Campbell, Rep. Richard Neal, and Douglas Foy. Will we see you at #EarthNight2024? #ClimateAction #EnvironmentalPolicy #EnviroLeagueMA #mapoli

In a recent The New York Times article, our client Tim Ritchie, President of the Museum of Science, Boston, shared his thoughts on the responsibility museums have to engage with the public around timely issues. “Museums like ours have the power to convene and the power to inspire. We need to be a place where people in our community can come together to think about what kind of a world we want.” https://lnkd.in/edjNDWiW

Great piece in Banker & Tradesman by Massachusetts Housing & Shelter Alliance CEO Joyce Tavon on the importance of supportive housing. The current housing shortage in MA doesn’t just harm the economy; it fuels the housing crisis, particularly among the fastest-growing population experiencing homelessness: adults 50+. According to Joyce, data suggest we’re short 200,000 homes across all income levels. She writes - “It’s worth noting that only a subset of all unhoused people needs this model – a permanent place to live combined with services to assist them in achieving greater stability. With a roof over one’s head, it’s easier to tackle an addiction, receive mental health treatment or finally address complex health issues.”

Our team was thrilled to join the Congressional Fire Service Institute's 34th Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Symposium & Dinner in Washington DC yesterday. The event gathered thousands of fire service professionals from across the country for a day of advocacy and learning about some of the most pressing issues in fire prevention and response. It's truly inspiring to hear about the work our fire service professionals do to ensure our safety every day.

We're always excited to join FORGE Impact to see the incredible innovation they help make possible. From ropeless fishing gear to battery recycling technology, yesterday's Spring Showcase featured demonstrations of cutting-edge physical product prototypes from local startups. Last night, FORGE delivered thousands of dollars in funding that will help these innovators grow and bring their game-changing products to the market. We look forward to seeing what these incredible companies do next. Special thanks to the Massachusetts Executive Office of Economic Development and Undersecretary Ashley Stolba for delivering the keynote remarks.
